A teacher who spent 34 years in Hinsdale Central High School classrooms and three alumni were inducted into the school's Hall of Fame on Thursday, Sept. 17.

The Hinsdale Central Foundation honored Bob Clark, Brent Johnston, Adam King and Michael Kuhn at a ceremony at Butterfield Country Club during Homecoming week, The Hinsdalean reported. The foundation inducts new members each year for accomplishments or service in areas such as arts, athletics, business and education.

Hinsdale Village President Greg Hart shared photos from the event on X on Monday, Sept. 21.

Bob Clark graduated from Hinsdale Central in 1975, where he started on the varsity basketball team. He built a career in media as a writer and producer.

Brent Johnston is the only non-alumnus in this year's class. He taught physical education and driver education at Hinsdale Central for 34 years starting in 1975 and chaired the Driver Education Department. Johnston served as adviser to the school's Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) chapter from 1984 to 2009. Beyond the classroom, he helped shape Illinois roadway safety policy, including primary seat belt laws and graduated driver licensing. He continues to teach as an adjunct professor with the Illinois Driver Education Teacher Endorsement Program at the University of St. Francis in Joliet.

Adam King, a 2010 graduate, is a third-generation executive at King's Landscape Design, a family-owned company founded in 1959. He serves as director of sales and sits on the boards of the Hinsdale Chamber of Commerce, the Illinois Landscape Contractors Association and the Hinsdale Central Foundation.

Michael Kuhn, Class of 1981, grew up in Hinsdale. He attended The Lane School and Hinsdale Junior High School before Central. Kuhn earned a bachelor's degree in business from Elmhurst College and a master's in school counseling from National Louis University. He served on the District 86 board for 12 years, ending his tenure in 2015, and is the incoming president of the Hinsdale Central Foundation.

The ceremony carried a ticket price of $150 per person. Kuhn's first order of business as Foundation president will be continuing the organization's work connecting Hinsdale Central students with paths beyond the classroom.
