The six-bedroom home at 132 S. Park Ave. sold for $5.3 million on Thursday, July 2, making it the highest-priced residential closing in Hinsdale's latest deed recording, according to DuPage County Recorder of Deeds records reported by Shaw Local on Thursday, July 17.
The 9,612-square-foot house had been listed at $5,299,000, MLS records show. It closed $1,000 above its asking price. Buyer and seller names have not yet appeared in the county recorder's online portal.
The corridor's run
The $5.3 million closing is not even the street's biggest sale this year. A 7,514-square-foot home at 719 S. Park Ave., built in 2021, sold for $7.15 million on Monday, March 24, at $952 per square foot, according to Shaw Local's reporting of DuPage County deed records. That sale was the highest suburban Chicago residential transaction recorded at the time.
Two other South Park Avenue properties also closed above $4 million: 820 S. Park Ave. at $5.6 million and 133 S. Park Ave. at $4.2 million, per MLS records. In all, four homes on the street have sold above $4 million in 2026.
The all-time DuPage County residential record remains $7.67 million, set by a Hinsdale home in 2021, according to the DuPage County Supervisor of Assessments office.
What the numbers mean for the block
Hinsdale's median sale price hit roughly $1.61 million in the March-through-May 2026 period, up 44.9% year over year, according to Redfin's analysis of MLS data. Hinsdale's relatively low transaction volume can amplify percentage swings, but the direction is clear: the village's luxury tier is moving fast.
In DuPage County's top 5% of sales, 45.4% of homes closed above asking price, an 11-percentage-point jump from a year earlier, per Redfin. Luxury listings sold in a median 45 days, 11 fewer than the prior year.
The architectural history of the structure at 132 S. Park Ave. has not been confirmed through the Hinsdale History Center or village permit records. Residents can search deed records directly through the DuPage County Recorder of Deeds office.
