Two Hinsdale properties landed on the list of the ten most expensive home sales recorded across DuPage and Cook counties during the week of Oct. 19.

A seven-bedroom home at 104 S. Monroe St. sold for $3.4 million, ranking second on the two-county list, according to Shaw Local. A 2,940-square-foot home at 37 S. Stough St. sold for $2.4 million, ranking eighth. Both transactions were completed Oct. 6, with titles recorded during the week of Oct. 19.

The Monroe Street house was built in 2025 and spans 7,500 square feet of living space with seven bedrooms and eight bathrooms. It sits on a 0.4-acre lot, according to a separate Shaw Local sale report. The sale price worked out to $453 per square foot.

The Stough Street home, built in 2020, sold at $816 per square foot. That per-square-foot price is nearly double the Monroe Street figure, reflecting the smaller home's 2,940-square-foot footprint against its $2.4 million price tag.

A six-bedroom home in Wilmette topped the two-county list at $3.48 million. An Oak Brook home at 1901 Midwest Club Parkway placed third at $3.31 million. That 9,862-square-foot house, built in 1988, sold at $336 per square foot. The Oak Brook sale closed Oct. 13.

In all, 634 residential sales were recorded across DuPage and Cook counties that week. The average sale price was $468,217, and the average price per square foot was $275. Both Hinsdale sales exceeded those averages by wide margins.

The closings come as Hinsdale home prices continue to rise.
