Illinois State Police will run extra impaired-driving patrols across DuPage County throughout July 2026 as part of a state-funded enforcement program covering four counties.
The Alcohol Countermeasure Enforcement patrols, funded by the Illinois Department of Transportation, begin Tuesday, July 1, and run through Thursday, July 31. They cover Cook, DuPage, Kane, and Will counties, according to a Shaw Local report published June 21.
ISP said the patrols will focus on impaired driving, open alcohol containers, suspended or revoked licenses, improper seatbelt and child restraint use, distracted driving, and unsafe vehicle operation.
No specific roads, schedules, or checkpoint locations within DuPage County have been announced. Drivers anywhere in the county should be aware of additional trooper presence throughout the month.
Alcohol and drug impairment factor into more than 47% of all fatal motor vehicle crashes in Illinois, according to ISP.
