Hinsdale South student-athletes can knock out their required sports physical for free on Sunday, August 2, at the school's Back-2-School Bash, ahead of fall tryouts.
The event runs from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Hinsdale South football field and is open to the entire community at no cost, according to the District 86 E-Newsletter published Wednesday, July 15.
Sports physicals will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Under IHSA rules, every student-athlete must have a current physical on file before participating in tryouts, practices, or games. Illinois law also requires new students to have a physical completed before the school year starts, and students without current records on file may be excluded from school. At the bash, students can also pick up a copy of their immunization records on-site.
Beyond the physicals, the event includes free backpacks and school supplies (while supplies last), food and refreshments, music and entertainment, giveaways, and family-friendly activities. Adults can access free health screenings. Community resources will also be available.
Hinsdale South, which enrolls approximately 1,370 students across grades 9 through 12, is part of Hinsdale Township High School District 86.
Supplies are limited. Families can find more information through the District 86 ParentSquare page or by calling Hinsdale South at (630) 468-4000.
