Hinsdale drivers can pay parking tickets by phone instead of walking into Village Hall.

The Village of Hinsdale has an online payment portal for parking citations, first reported by The Hinsdalean. The system accepts any major credit or debit card and requires no account or login.

Recent citations carry a QR code printed on the ticket. Scanning it with a smartphone opens a secure payment page. Older tickets without a QR code can be paid by entering the citation number or license plate number on the village's portal page.

The portal is operated by T2 Systems, the vendor that manages Hinsdale's parking citation software. T2 Systems charges a flat 35 cents per transaction plus a 7.99% convenience fee, according to the village's announcement. On a $25 ticket, that comes to roughly $2.35 in fees. On a $50 ticket, about $4.35.

The village said it does not keep any portion of those fees.
